ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS
On an entirely too hot Sunday at the end of June 2024, Ian, Jo, and an intrepid photographer set out to take the engagement photos of a lifetime.
They made their way to the one place they’d never been before: Dinosaur Land.
We’ve captured evidence of the expedition below.

Dinosaur Land is famous for its 50+ life-sized dinosaur replicas, but there's no denying that King Kong's hand is *the* iconic photo spot.

Ian, Jo, and King Kong stare off into their future together.

Prom pic!

Quelle horreur!

The rest of the world fades away when I'm with you ♡

"And then I said, 'Can't make soup without soup!'"

Millennials: Laughing while the world burns behind them.

It was a beautiful 93° day in almost Best Virginia.

Lighting! Location! Vibes! Dinos!

Our instructions were to run.

Our instructions were to continue to run.

Jo's instruction was to survive.

We must never speak of this.

Jo saves Ian from the crushing, trampling foot of the apatosaurus.

This picture is here because "Ian" thinks it's "funny."

And how did you get your lifetime ban from all National Parks?

Jo shares the good news with a triceratops.

The ring takes a rest on the tooth of the oldest dinosaur.

Aw.

Woolly Mammoth tusks grew spirally and continued in a curve until the tips pointed towards each other, sometimes crossing.

Volumetric analysis suggests that a full grown Megatherium americanum was comparable in weight to an Asian elephant.

Spinosauridae fossils have been recovered worldwide, including Africa, Europe, South America and Asia.

In the early 1900s, people in the United States Ozarks region referred to praying mantises as Devil's horses.

Mantodeans are flying insects known for their raptorial behavior, mainly performed by their first pair of thoracic appendages.

While regarded as one of the largest and most powerful predators to have ever lived, megalodon is only known from fragmentary remains.

The interference colors indicate that the thickness of the soap film is on the order of a few wavelengths of visible light.

Not pictured: rivers of sweat.

Jo explains dinosaurs to Ian.

Ian bought me those earrings!

Okay, yes, it's me, Jo, writing the captions.

You think I'd leave something this important to anyone other than the 2007 North Carolina Beta Club Scrapbook Champ?

Really proud of the dynamism of the earring here.

Our instruction was to fly. I think we both understood the assignment.

I could grow old with this photo.

If we have a kid, we'll come back here, replicate this photo, and send out the announcement with the caption, "We're gonna need a bigger boat."

Truly, many thanks to Sarah Celec for her incredible photography, direction, and friendship.
