  • Asbury First United Methodist Church is the church that Ian grew up at. As a child and as a youth, he spent countless hours volunteering for the church’s various outreach ministries now housed in their Community Outreach Center. Asbury First’s neighbors throughout Rochester utilize the Community Outreach Center on a daily basis to receive hot meals, laundry services, showers, clothing, groceries, medical care, and more—all with dignity and love. Since our wedding is being held at Asbury First, we invite you to make a gift to the Community Outreach Center’s operating fund so that this vital work can continue to serve the Rochester community.

  • Holler Health Justice (HHJ) is doing vital work at the intersection of racial, economic, and reproductive justice, ensuring that Appalachian communities—especially those most affected by health inequities—have access to the care they need. As an abortion fund serving West Virginia and broader Appalachia, HHJ provides funding and logistical support in a region where reproductive choice is under attack. Jo grew up in a rural county in Appalachia, and both of us lived near West Virginia for five years before getting engaged, making justice work in this region deeply personal to us. In honor of our wedding, we invite you to support HHJ’s mission, helping ensure that everyone—no matter their location, income, or identity—can access reproductive healthcare with dignity and support.

  • Wesley Theological Seminary holds a special place in our story, as it was in a seminar on Bonhoeffer that we first met as students. Wesley’s mission to equip leaders for Christian ministry, advance theological scholarship, and serve as a prophetic voice in the public square continues to shape us both. We invite you to support the Wesley Fund, with gifts directed to the Annual Scholarship Fund or the Center for Public Theology. Your generosity will help ensure that future leaders can engage in transformative theological education and carry forward the work of justice, faith, and ministry in the world.
